    [Council of Europe (press release)] Mexico joins the data protection convention / [유럽이사회(보도자료)] 멕시코, 데이터 보호 조약에 가입하다 관리자 2018년 07월 06일

     Mexico joined to “Convention 108”, and to its Additional Protocol on transborder data flows and supervisory authorities. It becomes the sixth non-European state to accede to the convention following Uruguay, Senegal, Mauritius, Tunisia and Cabo Verde. For Mexico, the convention and its Additional Protocol will enter into force on 1 October 2018.“Convention 108” is the only existing international treaty in force providing individuals the right to the protection of personal data as well as target to prevent any abuses which may accompany the processing of these data. It’s the sole standard which has potential to be applied worldwide therefore can bind entities internationally.
